News for the Week of June 2, 2013

Here are your weekly church announcements, along with a poster for our Annual Joint Choirs Concert (click here to download the poster).  A few additional things to note:

Unionville Festival is this weekend and we are pleased to once again have activities at our church.  Please join us and enjoy musical entertainment, BBQ, UCW baking and Attic Treasures.  There will also be art activities for the children.  (Note that Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Hwy. 7 to Carlton Road so you will need to park on a side street and walk to the church.)

Some help is still needed, so if you have a few hours to spare, we’d love to have your participation.  Contact Jim Wright at [email protected] to offer your time and talents!

Items for the bake table and attic treasures (and yes, we will accept jewelry too) can be dropped off at the church on Friday between 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Weather permitting, we will enjoy Sunday’s worship service at 10 a.m. on the front lawn.  There will be some picnic tables available but you might want to bring your lawn chair.  (In the event of rain, we will worship indoors as usual.)  Our parking lot and Main Street will be open south of the band shell but you may find it easier to come to church via Hwy. 7 that day.

The Annual Joint Choirs concert will be held at the church on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. featuring works by Bach and Beaudoin, as per the attached poster.  Come and enjoy choirs and orchestra!

Hoping to see many of you over the weekend!

A couple of reminders:

1.       May 12th is Mother’s Day and you are reminded of the announcement regarding the Mothers’ Day Cross.

2.       May 19th marks the beginning of our summer schedule and we will gather as one congregation for worship at 10:00 a.m.

Please note that Kristin Derry will be joining us on Sunday to give us a presentation on her recent experiences with the children and teachers of Haiti.  We will also have a Coffee Hour, hosted by your Council Executive, between services, so be sure to stay late or come early to enjoy refreshments and fellowship with your church family.  Visit with old friends and make some new ones!
