News for the Week of December 22, 2013

Here are your weekly church announcements. A couple of highlights:

  • This Sunday is typically known as Christmas Sunday and we celebrate the fourth of Advent with the Sacrament of Communion. Services are at 9:30 & 11:15 a.m.
  • Christmas Eve will feature three services: 5:00 p.m. with nursery service and a special children’s feature, and 7:00 & 10:30 p.m. with the Sacrament of Communion and Light of the World candlelighting to the singing of Silent Night.
  • For Sunday, December 29th, we will have ONE SERVICE ONLY at 10:00 a.m. (As I will personally be out of the office between Christmas and New Year’s there will not be a congregational email next week.)
  • And finally, please note that we are no longer permitted to park at the Unionville Train Station on Sunday mornings. The parking lot is needed by another church using the station building for their worship services at that time.

I hope to see many of you on Sunday and/or Christmas Eve. In any event, I wish all of you a very blessed Christmas season and everything wonderful in the New Year!

Christmas is coming!

Once again, here are your weekly church announcements for your reading pleasure.  You will note that this Sunday is our annual Advent 3 Musical Presentation with choirs and orchestra.  Be sure to join us for this special Christmas treat!  (Children have the option of remaining in church for the entire service or going to Sunday School as soon as they arrive at 9:30 a.m.  There will be no Children’s Story in the service this Sunday but I’ve been told that the Sunday School team have many exciting activities planned!  I hope many can attend.)

Secondly, this is the last Sunday to bring your donations of mitts, hats, scarves, etc. for our Mitten Tree.  Thank you to all who have contributed so far – the tree looks great!

Hoping to see many of you on Sunday!

This Sunday is White Gift Sunday and your gifts of unwrapped non perishable food items are welcome.  They will be presented during “Passing of the Peace” time in the service.  (If you prefer to make a monetary gift instead, we have White Gift envelopes available in the narthex.)  All proceeds will benefit our local Markham.
