News for the Week of March 23, 2014

Here are your weekly announcements – lots of events/activities to read up on.

This Sunday (March 23rd) we will mark “Outreach Sunday” in recognition of our Lenten Project this year:  Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW).  Dave Dryden, son of founders Murray & Margaret Dryden and current Chair of the Board, will be with us to tell us more about this amazing charity.  For the children, Katie Sandiford will be telling them about her upcoming trip to Sri Lanka with SCAW.  And, we will also have COFFEE HOUR between services!

I hope many of you can attend.

News for the Week of March 9, 2014

Here are your weekly church announcements for your reading pleasure.  This Sunday, March 9th marks the first Sunday of Lent and will include the Sacrament of Communion at both services (9:30 and 11:15 a.m.).  It also marks the beginning of Daylight Savings Time, so remember to set your clocks one hour ahead before you retire on Saturday evening!

For those who were able to attend last Sunday’s Town Hall meeting, THANK YOU!  It was a great gathering of ideas for the future of our church.  All comments are being reviewed by Council members and we will keep you informed of the next steps.  In the meantime, if you have any further suggestions, there is still opportunity to either leave us a note in the Suggestion Box on my desk or to email suggestionbox@centralunitedchurch.com

Hoping to see many of you on Sunday!

News for the Week of March 2, 2014

We do hope you will be able to join us for worship this Sunday, March 2nd at 10:00 a.m. and remain for the luncheon and important Town Hall style meeting following.  The topic of this meeting will be the future of our Sunday School and all, young and “older”, are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion.  We value everyone’s input and ideas!  (Child care will be available for the children.)

(Our two service format of 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. will return on March 9th.)

Looking forward to seeing many of you on Sunday!
