News for the Week of April 27, 2014

Here are your weekly church announcements. Please read the latest news about your church – a couple of highlights:

  1. We will celebrate the life of Lilian Tadgell (formerly of Heritage Cottages and Union Villa) at her funeral on Saturday at 11 a.m.
  2. The beef dinner is just over a week away – so be sure to get your tickets in advance and find a spot where you can volunteer. Donations of homemade desserts are also needed.
  3. Be sure to read the “Town Hall Update” regarding some important decisions for our church.

We had a great crowd here for worship on Easter Sunday and I hope to see many of you again this Sunday.

News for the Week of April 20, 2014

As we continue our walk through Holy Week, we look forward to the promise of Easter. On behalf of Central’s ministry team, I hope that many of you can attend our services throughout the next few days:

Maundy Thursday (today) we have a worship service at 7:30 p.m., which includes special praise music and the Sacrament of Communion to commemorate the Last Supper.

Good Friday we have a worship service at 10:00 a.m., reading the story of Jesus’ trial and crucifixion from the Gospel of Matthew. John Mole, organist, will assist our interim music director Sarah Wyse.

Easter Sunday we have three celebration services: 8:00 a.m. is our traditional Sunrise service (held outdoors, weather permitting) followed by a light breakfast in the church kitchen; then we have two full worship services at 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. (with Sunday School for the children at 9:30) again with John Mole assisting Sarah Wyse. The Sacrament of Communion will be offered at all three services.

Be sure to read the attached announcements for more details on the life and work of your church.

News for the Week of April 13, 2014

Spring is here! Once again, here are your weekly announcements. Lots of news and activities to read about. I draw your particular attention to the many opportunities for worship during Holy Week, which begins with the celebration of Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday! I do hope many of you are able to join us during this special time in the Christian year.

Also, you will note we are hosting the final evening in the Lenten Series on Sunday evening. Please join us at 7 p.m. for a time of worship and fellowship with members of other churches in our community.

And, on another note, I wish to remind you that our annual Prime Rib Beef Dinner is just 3 weeks away and we are still looking for lots of volunteers and folks to purchase their tickets! Please check out the sign up sheets behind my desk or send me a quick email to offer your time and talents to this wonderful community event and major “fun”draiser for our church. Tickets can be purchased from either Don Thomson or myself – bring your friends and family!
