A few reminders for this week Apr. 8 to Apr. 14, 2024

FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK

What we do know is this: when he (Jesus) is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. (1 John 3:2) Many of us have good friends that we see rarely and yet long to see in person. Yes, letters and phone calls and ‘virtual’ meetings have their place in the nurturing and building of friendship. But there is nothing like physically being in the same space with them. Though it is an incomplete analogy, we might compare those things like letters, cards, voice and virtual phone calls—the things of nurturing and building friendships—to prayer, Bible reading and study, worship, sacraments, and communion with fellow believers—the means of nurturing and building faith. The promise to the believer is that one day that which is experienced by faith, Jesus’ presence in our lives, will be experienced by sight.

SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP 10:00 A.M.

Central United Church welcomes you to join our Worship Service Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In worship we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; God’s word is read and preached, sacraments celebrated, faith sung and prayers offered.

Sunday services are also livestreamed (and recorded) through the Church website or you can join here. A copy of the bulletin for this Sunday’s Service is attached here.

This Sunday’s Scripture readings are Acts 3:12-19, 1 John 3:1-7 and Luke 24:36b-48. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.
