FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK
Like the disciples on the Sea of Galilee there are times in our walk of faith when the wind is against us and the waves are such that we can’t seem to make any headway. In those moments we can be afraid, uncertain of what is coming our way or afraid that we just won’t make it. In the story of Jesus walking on the water to join his disciples we are told that the moment of fear Jesus acted immediately. In those moments of uncertainty confess with your lips the Apostolic confession Jesus has made known to you in your hearts, “Jesus is Lord.” He is sovereign not just of your life but of all life. Keep this confession near your lips. “Jesus is Lord.” When you do, you will find that immediately Jesus will assure you as he did his disciples in the boat, “Take heart, it is I: be not afraid.”
SUNDAY WORSHIP 10:00 A.M.
Central United Church welcomes you to join our Worship Service Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In worship we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; God’s word is read and preached, sacraments celebrated, faith sung and prayers offered.
Sunday services are also livestreamed (and recorded) through the Church website or you can join here. A copy of the bulletin for this Sunday’s Service is attached here. This Sunday we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
This Sunday’s Scripture readings are 1 Kings 19:9-18, Romans 10:5-15 and Matthew 14:22-33. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.
