A few reminders for this week August 8 to August 14, 2022

FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK
Summer Sermons: Paul’s letter to the Colossians

“God is calling each of you to be what he saw in you when he first spoke your name from all eternity, and then spoke it in the silence and yearnings of your heart.” This sentence came from an address to a 2022 graduating class of seminary students. While spoken to seminary graduates, the wonder of our Lord’s personal address to follow him is for every believer. I find it an inspiring reflection on our Lord’s love for us. The Apostle Paul speaks of the same wonder when he writes, “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith.” Even though Paul writes this from prison he is convinced that nothing can compare with the wonder of walking in life with Jesus Christ, the one through whom and for whom all things were created.
