A few reminders for this week Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, 2023

FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK

January 1, 2023—the first day of the new year—falls on a Sunday and Sunday worship is a fitting way for Christians to begin a new year! The Heidelberg Catechism, written in 1563, is a confession of faith that offers comprehensive instruction for the church. It is arranged in a question and answer format in 52 Sundays, originally intended to be taught on each Sunday of the year. The first question to be taught on the first Sunday of the year is, “What is your only comfort in life and in death?” The answer is a wonderful way to set our course for 2023—or any year for that matter. Answer. “That I am not my own, but belong—body and soul, in life and in death—to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.”

SUNDAY WORSHIP

Central United Church welcomes you to our Worship Service Sunday morning at 10:00 am and we would love to have you join us. We rejoice that we can worship together and give thanks, offering prayer and lifting our voices in song.

Sunday services will also still be available to watch via livestreaming at 10:00 am through the Church website. To watch live or view a recording later, go to the Church website, scroll down and click on Central United’s Live Stream Page or click here. A copy of the bulletin for this Sunday’s Service is attached here.

This Sunday’s Scripture readings are Isaiah 60:1-6, Ephesians 3:1-12 and Matthew 2:1-12. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.
