This special service is offered to help prepare you for our Lenten journey to Easter and will include the Sacrament of Communion and Imposition of Ashes. CENTRAL’S BOOK CLUB Central’s Book Club will meet in the Friendship Room on Wednesday, February 26th at 10:00 am to review “Every Note Played” by Lisa Genova. All are welcome to attend a great time of discussion, fellowship and refreshments. COMMUNION SERVERS Communion Servers are needed for March 1st. MOVIE NIGHT Movie Night on Friday March 13th @ 7:30 pm – “Overcomer,” a Christian movie asking “what will you allow to define you?” will be shown at Central United, as part of radio station LIFE 100.3‘s movie tour. Please extend this news with your friends and invite them too! LENTEN STUDY – “TALKING TO GOD” The focus of this years Lenten Study will be on Prayer. The title is “TALKING TO GOD”. There will be several authors including Ed Young, Adam Weber and Joe Boyd. It will run for five weeks on Wednesday evenings beginning on March 4th. As in previous years there will be a light dinner option at 6:00 pm with the study starting at 7:00 pm and finishing at 8:15 pm. The series will be completed by April 1st and should give us a real insight on how we communicate with God. Signup sheets are posted in the Narthex. Note: Interested guests are welcome. UCW PIE SALE The UCW will be making their pies again this year. Order sheets have been posted on the bulletin board and the deadline for pre-orders is March 8th. The cost per pie is $12.00 with a maximum of two pies per order. Pies will be available for pick-up after worship service on March 15th. We are also looking for any volunteers who are able to help out, your help would be greatly appreciated. SILENT AUCTION The SILENT AUCTION returns to the Church’s Roast Beef Dinner. Do you have a donation for the auction? Popular bidding items include services you can offer to others (make your signature food dish, host a lunch/dinner/games night in your home, do something to help someone else – be a driver, house sitter, etc). Funds raised will be directed to the repair/replacement of the front of Church sidewalk and step.
