FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK
I invite you to take note of the repeated word ‘alone’ in the Psalmist’s prayer. For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. (Psalm 62:5-6) The fundamental theme, ‘God—the only hope’, is repeated as counsel for his own soul; as a pleading testimony before God. It is a great comfort that God alone is our only hope, and trust, and expectation. When we find him, we seek no further. He is all sufficient. The more he is tried, the more he is found to be the very friend we need. Prayer lifts burdens—to cast your care on him relieves anxiety.
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP 10:00 A.M.
Central United Church welcomes you to join our Worship Service Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In worship we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; God’s word is read and preached, sacraments celebrated, faith sung and prayers offered. This Sunday we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Sunday services are also livestreamed (and recorded) through the Church website or you can join here. A copy of the bulletin for this Sunday’s Service is attached here.
This Sunday’s Scripture readings are Jonah 3:1-5, 10, 1 Corinthians 7:29-31 and Mark 1:14-20. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.
