FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK
I had called a member of the church to help me test some online technology I wanted to try out. He said I could call him any time to help because “I’m not going anywhere these days.” I have heard this sentiment from people more than a few times. Maybe you are like me and find that while there are countless programmes online or on television there is not much to watch. I was reminded by one of our congregation of The Chosen billed as the first-ever-multi-season TV show about the life of Jesus. I recommend the episodes that are currently available on YouTube. The filmmaker Dallas Jenkins has a wonderful imagination that helps viewers step into the Bible stories of Jesus as real-life stories. So, if you aren’t going very far these days perhaps you will take in an episode of The Chosen and be inspired to reread the biblical account of these events in Jesus’ life.
CENTRAL UNITED IN-PERSON WORSHIP SUSPENDED
Under the current York Region lockdown due to Covid-19, Central United Church is continuing it’s livestreaming of Sunday Services, but in-person worship services are on hold until the end of lockdown, which is currently February 10th. However, there is a possibility that this date may be extended so we will keep you posted as to when in-person services will resume.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we endeavor to work together to make our worship both safe and meaningful during this unusual time.
