A few reminders for this week Jan. 3 – Jan. 9, 2021

According to the Bible, the chief characteristic of the living God is that God speaks. Our society’s institutions may be silent about God’s address but this is not to be interpreted to mean that God is silent or that his voice is not being heard. The scriptures insist that the reality in which our lives unfold is one in which we are being addressed by God. The phrase “Thus says the Lord” spoken by prophets is not a clever ploy to get you to listen to what they want to say next. This pronouncement ‘thus says the Lord’ describes reality—our reality—we are being addressed. So what does God have to say to us? When the news of today focuses on being afraid, one of the wonderful words of God to believers comes through the prophet Isaiah, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” It is a word God speaks to any who would call out to Him.
Effective January 5, 2022 we have temporarily moved to a Modified Step 2 of the “RoadMap to Reopen”. In this phase we are limited to 50 per cent capacity limits. Physical distancing and masks are still required. This means no change for Central United as we are continuing to follow masking and social distancing protocols which put us well under the 50% capacity limit. To view the guidelines at Central United, please click here.
