FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK
O Lord, you have searched me and known me. … You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. (Psalm 139:1,3) The tone of the Psalmist’s declaration is of someone marvelling at the magnificence of God. For the Psalmist this is much more than saying that God is omniscient; that God knows everything. It is more than a philosophical statement that if God created everything he must know everything. This is the Psalmist’s experience of God in his life. He finds that God is present only not when he prays or is at worship but always and everywhere. And it is a joy. The Psalmist isn’t anxious about God’s intimate knowledge of his life. It is a word of hope and comfort and encouragement because the One who knows us completely loves us completely.
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP 10:00 A.M.
Central United Church welcomes you to join our Worship Service Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In worship we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; God’s word is read and preached, sacraments celebrated, faith sung and prayers offered.
Sunday services are also livestreamed (and recorded) through the Church website or you can join here. A copy of the bulletin for this Sunday’s Service is attached here.
This Sunday’s Scripture readings are 1 Samuel 3:1-20, 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 and John 1:43-51. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.
