FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK
Most of us carry concerns for the suffering of loved ones; worries for the burdens of friends. In Mark’s gospel he tells the story of how some people came to Jesus with a paralyzed man carried by four friends. It wasn’t easy to get their friend in front of Jesus because of all the people gathered around Jesus in the house where he was—they had to remove some roofing in order to lower the paralyzed man in front of Jesus. Mark tells us that “When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’” Notice that it was the faith of the friends who brought the man to which our Lord responds. Be encouraged that when you pray for others in their suffering you bring them to Jesus and he sees your faith in Him.
