A few reminders for this week Mar. 7 – Mar. 13, 2022

FROM THE MINISTER'S DESK

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, … stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved. (Philippians 4:1) In our era of ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’ I noted that one news organization published an article explaining their coverage of the war in the Ukraine; ostensibly to assure readers they were getting good information. Many find it increasingly difficult to know what to believe. I invite you to consider that the Apostle Paul’s admonition to ‘stand firm in the Lord in this way’ was written while he was in prison uncertain of his own future. The ‘way’ Paul speaks of is the way that is Jesus Christ; the way of following him. In the face of uncertainty we can be certain of the Lord. In these unsettling days there is something we can do that will settle the heart; … in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
