A few reminders for this week May 8 to May 14, 2023

FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK

“Indeed, the word of God is living and active.” (Hebrews 4:12) The Bible is a book that can be read like any book. What many have found upon reading the Bible is that the Bible is reading them—another way of saying that the word of God is living and active. Many believers testify how a single sentence of scripture sustained them in difficulty or guided them with its wisdom. I commend to you a podcast by the Canadian Bible Society. It is a conversation between Rev. Dr Andrew Stirling and Professor Mark Buchanan discussing Mark’s relationship with the Bible. Mark came to faith through reading the scriptures and asserts that there is something in the scriptures that speaks directly to every situation, every heartache, every doubt and every fear.

SUNDAY WORSHIP 10:00 A.M.

Central United Church welcomes you to join our Worship Service Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In worship we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; God’s word is read and preached, sacraments celebrated, faith sung and prayers offered.

This Sunday’s Scripture readings are Acts 17:22-31; 1 Peter 3:13-22 and John 14:15-21. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.
