A few reminders for this week Nov. 7 to Nov. 13, 2022

FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK

“Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills sing together for joy at the presence of the Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth.” (Psalm 98:8-9) When the psalmist writes that the mountains sing and the rivers clap their hands when they sense God’s nearness, he is attributing to the physical features of the earth a reality that he knew from his own personal spiritual life. This psalm begins with a call to “sing to the Lord a new song for he has done marvellous things.” For the believer, the nearness of the Lord is the occasion for singing. The Lord, the One who is righteous and will set all things to rights, comes near us out of his great love for us. At the cross of Christ he bore in himself his just judgement of our sin. Indeed, a cause for singing!

SUNDAY WORSHIP

Central United Church welcomes you to our Worship Service Sunday morning at 10:00 am and we would love to have you join us. We rejoice that we can worship together and give thanks, offering prayer and lifting our voices in song.

Sunday services will also still be available to watch via livestreaming at 10:00 am through the Church website. To watch live or view a recording later, go to the Church website, scroll down and click on Central United’s Live Stream Page or click here. A copy of the bulletin for this Sunday’s Service is attached here.

This Sunday’s Scripture readings are Jonah 3:1-10, 2 Thessalonians 3:6-13, and Luke 21:5-19. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.
