A few reminders for this week Sept. 4 to Sept. 10, 2023

FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK

I was reading an article that described the graduation speech given by a young university student. As a Christian she believed that the best homes are those that prepare us for our next home. And our ultimate home is the new heaven and new earth, a final destination that should have a serious effect on the shape of each of the temporary homes that mark our sojourn along the way. As she thought about her college home she spoke of the fall and said that “the vibrance of leaves turning red in pockets and the familiarity of the air gradually cooling helps me consider the nature of change. During fall … we see that the world is always changing. It is transitory. At the same time, the beauty of it all points us to the wonder of the God who made our world and his beautiful plan to bring his people to an eternal home.”

SUNDAY WORSHIP 10:00 A.M.

Central United Church welcomes you to join our Worship Service Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In worship we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; God’s word is read and preached, sacraments celebrated, faith sung and prayers offered.

Sunday services are also livestreamed (and recorded) through the Church website or you can join here. A copy of the bulletin for this Sunday’s Service is attached here.

This Sunday’s Scripture readings are Ezekiel 33:7-11, Romans 13:8-14 and Matthew 18:15-20. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.
