… but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31) Maybe you are thinking that this is a bit of an exaggeration from an exuberant prophet trying to make faith in God sound good. What the prophet means is that you won’t become so weary, that is, as to quit running or unable to keep walking in faith. The prophet says this because he knows that God is the one who never wearies in carrying his people. In the ancient Hebrew world jogging was unheard of and the Olympic Games centuries away. People never ran for leisure. They ran for two serious reasons: to deliver good news and to save life. Both purposes coalesce in the gospel, for the gospel is good news which saves.

Central United Church welcomes you to join our Worship Service Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In worship we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; God's word is read and preached, sacraments celebrated, faith sung and prayers offered.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Our Annual General Meeting will be held in the sanctuary on Sunday, February 11th at 11:30 am following a short break after Sunday's Worship Service. To access a copy of the Annual Report click here.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
Wednesday, February 14th at 7:30 pm
Our Ash Wednesday Service will be held on Wednesday, February 14th at 7:30 pm. This special service is offered to help prepare you for our Lenten journey to Easter and will include the Sacrament of Communion and Imposition of Ashes.
LENTEN BIBLE STUDY
“I Believe” – A study of the Apostles' Creed
Our 2024 Lenten Bible Study will examine the claims contained in the Apostles’ Creed—what they mean and why they matter. Rev. Dr. James Clubine will lead us in a study taking a closer look at the Biblical grounding of what we confess. The study will be held on consecutive Tuesdays beginning on February 20, 2024 through to March 19, 2024. The session will begin with a light meal at 6:00 P.M. and the study beginning shortly after 7:00 P.M. to 830 P.M. Please click here to sign up.
2nd ANNUAL VALENTINE'S DINNER
Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 6:30 pm

FIRST AID and CPR/AED COURSE
