We would like to provide you with a mid-week news update of a couple of events this week in order to invite you to participate.
Wednesday, February 20th marks the beginning of our Lenten “Small Group” Bible study and we encourage you to participate. We will begin with coffee/tea at 7:15 p.m. in the Main Hall, plenary session at 7:30 p.m. and break off into small groups from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. Even if you weren’t able to join a small group this past Fall, you are welcome to attend this 5 week study. The topic is “The Resurrection of the Son of God”. (If Wednesday is not suitable for your schedule, please let us know as a Tuesday evening small group will also be available offsite.)
We hope you can join us for a fun evening on Friday evening, February 22nd from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. We will gather at World Bowl, 9 East Wilmot Street (between Hwy. 7 and 16th Avenue off Leslie Street). Cost is $15 which includes shoe rental.
And finally, I regret to advise that Andrew Philip, son-in-law to church members Vic & Sheila Fitzakerley, passed away on the weekend. Visitation will be held at the Highland Funeral Home, 10 Cachet Woods Court, Markham (just north of Buttonville Airport) on Thursday, February 21st from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held at the Olive Branch Community Church, Markham on Friday, February 22nd at 1 p.m. Our sympathies to the family.
