There will be a COFFEE HOUR this Sunday, so be sure to join us between services in the Main Hall for refreshment and fellowship. There is also an important announcement from your Church Council, repeated here:
Your Church Council is Hosting a Coffee Hour on Sunday
With the conclusion of another rewarding year in the work of your Church Council and Committees at the AGM on Friday February 1st, we are looking forward to starting afresh with our new 2013 Council and Committee teams on Monday February 4th. However, in reviewing the size of each of our teams as we enter 2013, your Council is concerned that in too many cases our committees and other groups are operating with membership levels too low to adequately share their existing responsibilities let alone take on new initiatives.
Have you previously considered getting involved in the work of your Church, but never got around to asking where you could serve? Are you a previous Council or Committee member with talents and experiences you can bring to a new role in the service of your Church? Are you an existing Committee member who is open to taking on a new challenge in 2013?
Please consider how you can best serve your Church in 2013. For many of you that will mean continuing in your current role, which is great. For others, please consider taking on something new or getting involved for the first time.
To help you with any questions you may have as you reflect on this, your Church Council will be hosting a Coffee Hour between services this Sunday, January 13th. Council and Committee members will be on hand to answer any questions you may have on the work they do. Please join us in the downstairs hall between services.
I would also like you to know that one of our church members suffered a death in her family this week. Carole Beam’s mother, Doris Harwood, passed away on Monday in her 95th year. The funeral will be held in Woodstock on Friday.
