News for the Week of January 6, 2013

Happy New Year!

Please note we are back on our two worship service schedule:  9:30 a.m. with Sunday School and 11:15 a.m.

I also have some sad news to share.  Connie Lockridge passed away this week and Rev. James Clubine will conduct her funeral service on Saturday (details below).  Connie had, until recently, lived at the “cottages” at Heritage Village (Anna Russell Way) and just celebrated her 95th birthday!  She attended Central for many years but was not able to do so in the last year or so, due to declining health.  She will be missed.

Obituary:

Lockridge, Constance Doris – Passed peacefully in her 96th year on Monday December 31, 2012 with family at her side in Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Pre-deceased by her first husband Ernest Boyd (1981), her second husband Charlie Lockridge (1988) and her brother Tom Conroy (2000). Connie was the cherished mother of Lorraine Hullachan, Catherine Johnstone (Jim deceased), Ron Boyd (Linda), Janet Skrepnek (Reg), Stephen Boyd (Margaret-An deceased), and Norman Boyd. Connie was the beloved grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is fondly remembered by her friends from Heritage Centre Unionville where she took part in choir singing, bible study, comedy/drama and especially playing her piano. Friends will be received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street N. (Markham Road) Markham on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Family interment Pine Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
