News for the Week of September 11, 2016

Although you’d never know it by the weather, our summer vacation time is over and September has arrived when our lives resume some of their regular routines. We hope that you have enjoyed a relaxing few months and look forward to seeing many of you again on Sunday morning.

Here are your weekly announcements. Please have a look and join in on many of Central’s activities. This Sunday, September 11th is Rally Day and we will celebrate 10 o’clock worship as usual with an indoor service and then move outside (weather permitting) for our traditional hot dog lunch and corn roast. Feel free to bring your lawn chair.

A couple of other news items to note:

1. Tickets are available for the Steve Bell concert and we encourage you to buy them early as space is limited. There will be a “ticket table” on Sunday during the lunch so be sure to bring cash/cheque to make your purchase.
2. Sadly, we need to share the news of the death of Mark Williams, son of Doreen Williams and brother to Ruth Harvilla. (Both Doreen and Ruth are regular attenders at our worship services.) On behalf of Central, I extend our most sincere sympathy to this family. Rev. Jim Clubine will lead a service tomorrow at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home. Here are details:

Williams , Mark David Passed away peacefully at Mackenzie Health on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 at the age of 61 . He is survived by his loving wife Carol, son Mark Jr., father Ken, mother Doreen, sister Ruth, and two nephews Greg and Luc. Mark served with the Toronto Police Services for 31 years. A Celebration of Life will take place at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home 8911 Woodbine Avenue MARKHAM, ON L3R 5G1 on Friday, September 9th, 2016 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
