Baptism & Membership

Infant and Child Baptism Orientation

Baptism is the beginning of the journey of faith for your child. Through Baptism, your child becomes part of our faith community in their Christian faith. Through your teaching example, your child will grow to become a follower of Christ and an active member of the church. This is why we have a special program to prepare parents to help them raise their consciousness about this important responsibility. Godparents are welcome, and encouraged to attend as well.

Session times are offered prior to Central’s baptism services in January, May and November.

New Membership Orientation

Central welcomes all who wish to join and grow in their faith with our congregation. The mission of our New Member Orientation sessions is as follows:

  • It gives the new member a clear understanding of the significance of having the Christian faith as a part of their daily life.
  • It explains the responsibilities inherited because of the Christian experience.
  • It defines what it means to become a member of God’s Church.

Each new member is required to attend ‘New Member Orientation’ prior to making their commitment of faith during the membership service.

Youth Confirmation Class

For Youth who have been baptized and are now ready to confirm their faith and be a member in the church, Central offers an 18 week series of classes.  During the 18 weeks, students receive information to support their decision through videos, power point presentations and group discussion.
