FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK
We’re into our first full week of Lent, and have had two sessions of our Lent study, featuring “The Chosen,” a series about the life of Jesus and his disciples. This Sunday will be week two of our Lenten sermon series, “Bullseye: Aiming to Follow Jesus,” based on the book of that name by Rev. Jamie Holtom and Rev. Debbie Johnson. Each Sunday during Lent we’re looking at one of the six markers they have identified as important goals for deepening our lives as Christian disciples.
This week our topic is “Worshipping Together Weekly,” and this fits so beautifully with episode 2 of The Chosen, where we reflected on the important place of sabbath and worship in the lives of Jesus and his followers. Observing a day of sabbath and worshipping in the synagogue and temple were a priority in Jesus’ life. It makes sense, then, that this would also be a priority in the lives of those who follow Him! Does worship have a place of priority in your life? Or does it get easily swept aside when other activities come along? We’ll consider this together this Sunday!
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP 10:00 A.M.
Central United Church welcomes you to join our Worship Service Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In worship we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; God’s word is read and preached, sacraments celebrated, faith sung and prayers offered.
Sunday services are also livestreamed (and recorded) through the Church website or you can join here. A copy of the bulletin for this Sunday’s Service is attached here.
This Sunday’s Scripture readings are Luke 4:14-19 and Psalm 27. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.

BUILDING REFRESH PROJECT DONATIONS
This week you will notice the new look of the new carpet on the Narthex level and front staircase, as well as the new lighting, ceiling tiles and painting in the Main Hall. The next step will be the completion of the stairwell flooring. We are over half way to our goal of receiving special donations of $100,000 for the project. Please consider supporting this project with a special donation soon. The church accepts donations of securities, which can be a tax effective way of donating, as well as cash. Please mark your donation as “Refresh Project.”

SUMMER CAMP 2025: Steadfast Love
August 11 – 15, 2025
Central will be hosting another year of Summer Day Camp in August! This is an incredible way to serve young families with children currently in SK through Grade 5. It also allows preteens and teens from Grade 6 and up to grow their faith, develop new skills, and gain valuable experience as volunteers (leaders-in-training) as they go through a one-week training prior to the camp from August 5-8. Please help spread the word in the community!
