FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK
Mark 13:4 When Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately, ‘Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign that all these things are about to be accomplished“?’”
Waiting is never fun, especially when we’re in an uncomfortable situation and are waiting for some relief, as the disciples were. It can be tempting to take matters into our own hands and look for our own solutions. God’s good plan for our lives sometimes takes a bit more time, but it is always worth the wait! What are you waiting for God to do in your life? Be persistent in prayer, and trust in Him.

FINANCE COMMITTEE UPDATE
Preliminary October Offerings results show a shortfall of $5000 versus Budget. This adds to the September YTD Offerings Deficit of $12,000. What this means is that we now need offerings in November and December of $74,000, just under 30% of our $253,000 annual offerings budget.
We all know what we need to do. Thanks in advance for your support as we move to close our budget gap, enabling Central United to provide the staff, programs and support necessary “To Grow in Christ and to Help Others Grow with Us.”
SAMARITAN’S PURSE – Christmas Shoebox
Our Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoebox Outreach event ends this Sunday, Nov. 17th. This is also the deadline for handing in the completed shoeboxes. If you had Samaritan’s Purse pack a box for you and you’d like your contribution counted in the final tally of boxes donated by Central United, please advise Sharlene (admin@centralunitedchurch.com or 905-474-0183).

With the Christmas season soon upon us, the Mitten Tree will once again be up in the Friendship Room. They can be dropped off at the church on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm or if you’re attending in person worship on Sunday morning and prefer to drop them off then, that would be fine as well.
