Week of July 20, 2026 – July 26, 2026

FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK

I do love a challenge! And someone presented me with a great one by requesting a sermon on the story of Jephthah’s vow, and the horrifying consequences of that vow, found in Judges 11:29-40. It’s probably not a story you have heard in church often, and it’s not one I have ever preached on. But, as the apostle Paul wrote “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). Let’s see what God has to say to us in this challenging passage!
