FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK
Jesus’ Call – How Do I Respond?
“Go therefore and make disciples….” Matthew 28:19 This isn’t just a command for the early church—it’s a call to each of us today.
At Central, we’ve embraced this through our mission: “To grow in Christ and help others grow with us.”
You might be asking, “Okay, but how do I do that?”
💡 Great question! Over the past months, your Strategy Implementation Team and the five Vision Implementation Teams involving more than 50 members of our congregation have prayerfully developed specific actions for us to take to live out this mission together.
🗓️ Very soon many of you will be invited to one of four special gatherings in November where these actions will be shared, discussed and your feedback will be sought.
Let’s step forward as a congregation in faith, unity, and purpose. These will be more than just meetings— these are the result of years of our spiritual journey and work as a congregation. And you’re an essential part of it.
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP 10:00 A.M.
Central United Church welcomes you to join our Worship Service Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In worship we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; God’s word is read and preached, sacraments celebrated, faith sung and prayers offered.
Sunday services are also livestreamed (and recorded) through the Church website or you can join here. A copy of the bulletin for this Sunday’s Service is attached here.
This Sunday’s Scripture readings are Job 33:13-18, 23-28 and Psalm 118:1-4, 19-26. You can also find a daily scripture message at the top of our website.

The Samaritan’s Purse initiative is in it’s final weeks. You can participate by packaging a shoebox yourself or if you’d prefer Samaritan’s Purse to pack a box for you, you can do so with a $44.00 donation, just visit their website here. They also ask for a $12.00 donation per box which is applied towards collection, processing and international shipping.
Shoeboxes, brochures and shopping lists are now available for pick up Sundays after church service or during the week. The church office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. The initiative will run for six weeks ending next Sunday, November 16th.
Let’s support this great initiative again this year to bring joy to a needy child. What a wonderful way to share Jesus’ love.
A YEAR-END DONATIONS REMINDER
“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16
As we approach the end of the calendar year, many donors take time to reflect on their charitable giving for the current tax year. To assist with this, a Year-to-Date Donations Statement has been emailed to all donors on file this week.
If you don’t see it in your Inbox, please check your spam or junk folder — it will appear as from “Central United Church” with an attached statement.
Gratitude for Your Generosity
Thank you for your donations to Central United Church from January 1 through October 31, 2025. Your ongoing support is deeply valued as we continue to fulfill our mission together.
A Thoughtful Moment for Review
